August 2021 Update and Announcement

We hope you're staying safe, healthy, and happy!

We're still working on Rendezvous, and the development is going well. It's been quite a long time since we posted our last devlog, and since then many things have changed for the better! !— here's what's been going on since  our last update:

1. Characters Portrait

After some consideration, we decided to add character portraits to the majority of the conversation interactions. We think it's important to convey emotional nuance in a game like this, and portraits are really valuable for immersion in a character-heavy narrative. Besides the main characters, we're also planning to give some minor characters their own portraits.

2. Entering the Neo-Surabaya

After some tweaking here and there in the Bay City, we have finally entered the development in the Neo-Surabaya parts. We've completed some NPC, environment, and background art for the first part of the city. We’re bringing some landmarks from the real-life city of Surabaya while adding cyberpunk/futurist elements to better fit the story and the lore— we hope you appreciate this attention to detail!

3. Overall Progress

We've almost completed polishing the prologue of the game, from polishing the city to overhauling the enemy AI. We’ve also completed the game's navigation from mouse+keyboard to full keyboard, and for the most part, the joystick support is almost done. With respect to the narrative, we’re near completion on the fully-finished story and dialogue. We can't wait to share the full experience with you!


4. We're at Exhibitions

Aside from our development progress, we also want to share some happy news with you. We’ve got curated and will appear on Indonesia Bekraf Game Prime and Gamescom 2021 online exhibition! The Bekraf Game Prime will be held from 6-8 August 2021.
